Matthew 5:33-37 CEV You know that our ancestors were told, "Don't use the Lord's name to make a promise unless you are going to keep it." [Lev. 19:12; Num. 30:2] (34) But I tell you not to swear by anything when you make a promise! Heaven is God's throne, so don't swear by heaven. [Isa. 66:1] (35) The earth is God's footstool, so don't swear by the earth. Jerusalem is the city of the great king, so don't swear by it. [Isa. 66:1; Psa. 48:2] (36) Don't swear by your own head. You cannot make one hair white or black. (37) When you make a promise, say only "Yes" or "No." Anything else comes from the devil.
Matthew 5:33-37 ESV "Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' [Lev. 19:12; Num. 30:2] (34) But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, [Isa. 66:1] (35) or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. [Isa. 66:1; Psa. 48:2] (36) And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. (37) Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil.
Matthew 5:33-37 BBE Again, you have knowledge that it was said in old times, Do not take false oaths, but give effect to your oaths to the Lord: [Lev. 19:12; Num. 30:2] (34) But I say to you, Take no oaths at all: not by the heaven, because it is the seat of God; [Isa. 66:1] (35) Or by the earth, because it is the resting-place for his foot; or by Jerusalem, because it is the town of the great King. [Isa. 66:1; Psa. 48:2] (36) You may not take an oath by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black. (37) But let your words be simply, Yes or No: and whatever is more than these is of the Evil One.
Matthew 5:33-37 GNB "You have also heard that people were told in the past, 'Do not break your promise, but do what you have vowed to the Lord to do.' [Lev. 19:12; Num. 30:2] (34) But now I tell you: do not use any vow when you make a promise. Do not swear by heaven, for it is God's throne; [Isa. 66:1] (35) nor by earth, for it is the resting place for his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. [Isa. 66:1; Psa. 48:2] (36) Do not even swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black. (37) Just say 'Yes' or 'No'---anything else you say comes from the Evil One.
Matthew 5:33-37 LITV Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients: "You shall not swear falsely, but shall give your oaths to the Lord." [Lev. 19:12; Num. 30:2] (34) But I say to you, Do not swear at all, neither by Heaven, because it is God's throne; [Isa. 66:1] (35) nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of His feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King. [Isa. 66:1; Psa. 48:2] (36) Nor shall you swear by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black. (37) But let your word be Yes, yes; No, no. For the excess of these is from evil.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
