2 Kings 17:12-17 CEV . . .Even though the LORD had commanded the Israelites (Gal 3:26-29; Gal 6:15-16) not to worship idols, they did it anyway. (13) So the LORD made sure that every prophet warned Israel and Judah with these words: "I, the LORD, command you to stop doing sinful things and start obeying my laws and teachings! I gave them to your ancestors, and I told my servants the prophets to repeat them to you." (14) But the Israelites would not listen; they were as stubborn as their ancestors who had refused to worship the LORD their God. (15) They ignored the LORD's warnings and commands, and they rejected the solemn agreement he had made with their ancestors. They worshiped worthless idols and became worthless themselves. The LORD had told the Israelites not to do the things that the foreign nations around them were doing, but Israel became just like them. (16) The people of Israel disobeyed all the commands of the LORD their God. They made two gold statues of calves and set up a sacred pole for Asherah; they also worshiped the stars and the god Baal. (17) They used magic and witchcraft and even sacrificed their own children. The Israelites were determined to do whatever the LORD hated.
2 Kings 17:12-17 LITV . . .and served the idols, of which Jehovah had said to them, You shall not do this thing. (13) And Jehovah testified against Israel, (Gal 3:26-29; Gal 6:15-16) and against Judah, by the hand of all His prophets, and every seer, saying, Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by the hand of My servants the prophets. (14) And they did not listen, and hardened their necks, like the necks of their fathers, who did not remain faithful to Jehovah their God. (15) And they rejected His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and went after the vain thing, and became vain, and after the nations that were around them, of whom Jehovah had commanded them not to do like them. (16) And they left all the commands of Jehovah their God and made for themselves casted images, two calves, and made an Asherah, and bowed to all the host of the heavens, and served Baal, (17) and caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire and divined, and used incantations, and sold themselves to do the evil in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke Him,
2 Kings 17:12-17 GW . . .They served idols, although the LORD had said, "Never do this." (13) The LORD had warned Israel and Judah (Gal 3:26-29; Gal 6:15-16) through every kind of prophet and seer, "Turn from your evil ways, and obey my commands and decrees as I commanded your ancestors in all my teachings, the commands I sent to you through my servants the prophets." (14) But they refused to listen. They became as impossible to deal with as their ancestors who refused to trust the LORD their God. (15) They rejected his decrees, the promise he made to their ancestors, and the warnings he had given them. They went after worthless idols and became as worthless as the idols. They behaved like the nations around them, although the LORD had commanded them not to do that. (16) They abandoned all the commands of the LORD their God: They made two calves out of cast metal. They made a pole dedicated to the goddess Asherah. They prayed to the entire army of heaven. They worshiped Baal. (17) They sacrificed their sons and daughters by burning them alive. They practiced black magic and cast evil spells. They sold themselves by doing what the LORD considered evil, and they made him furious.
2 Kings 17:12-17 NWT . . .continued to serve dungy idols, concerning which Jehovah had said to them: “YOU must not do this thing”; 13 and Jehovah kept warning Israel and Judah (Gal 3:26-29; Gal 6:15-16) by means of all his prophets [and] every visionary, saying: “Turn back from YOUR bad ways and keep my commandments, my statutes, according to all the law that I commanded YOUR forefathers and that I have sent to YOU by means of my servants the prophets”; 14 and they did not listen but kept hardening their necks like the necks of their forefathers that had not exercised faith in Jehovah their God; 15 and they continued rejecting his regulations and his covenant that he had concluded with their forefathers and his reminders with which he had warned them, and they went following vain idols and became vain themselves, even in imitation of the nations that were all around them, concerning whom Jehovah had commanded them not to do like them; 16 And they kept leaving all the commandments of Jehovah their God and proceeded to make for themselves molten statues, two calves, and to make a sacred pole, and they began to bow down to all the army of the heavens and to serve Ba´al; 17 and they continued to make their sons and their daughters pass through the fire and to practice divination and to look for omens, and they kept selling themselves to do what was bad in the eyes of Jehovah, to offend him;

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
