2 Corinthians 3:12-4:6 NWT . . . Therefore, as we have such a hope, we are using great freeness of speech, 13 and not doing as when Moses would put a veil upon his face, that the sons of Israel might not gaze intently at the end of that which was to be done away with. [Ex. 34:35] 14 But their mental powers were dulled. For to this present day the same veil remains unlifted at the reading of the old covenant, because it is done away with by means of Christ. 15 In fact, down till today whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their hearts. 16 But when there is a turning to Jehovah ( יהוה ), the veil is taken away. [Ex. 34:34] 17 Now Jehovah ( יהוה ) is the Spirit; and where the spirit of Jehovah ( יהוה ) is, there is freedom. 18 And all of us, while we with unveiled faces reflect like mirrors the glory of Jehovah ( יהוה ), are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, exactly as done by Jehovah ( יהוה ) [the] Spirit. 4 That is why, since we have this ministry according to the mercy that was shown us, we do not give up; 2 but we have renounced the underhanded things of which to be ashamed, not walking with cunning, neither adulterating the word of God, but by making the truth manifest recommending ourselves to every human conscience in the sight of God. 3 If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through. 5 For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as YOUR slaves for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God is he who said: “Let the light shine out of darkness,” and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate [them] with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ. [Isa. 42:6, 7, 16]

[Ex. 34:35] (14) But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. (15) Yes, to this day whenever Moses (the Law Code) is read a veil lies over their hearts. (16) But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. [Ex. 34:34] (17) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (18) And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. (3) And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. (4) In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (5) For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. [Isa. 42:6, 7, 16]

(3) But also if our gospel is being hidden, it has been hidden in those being lost, (4) in whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the brightness of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. (5) For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus. (6) Because it is God who said, "Out of darkness Light shall shine," who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. He didn't want the people of Israel to see the glory fading away. [Ex. 34:35] (14) However, their minds became closed. In fact, to this day the same veil is still there when they read the Old Testament. It isn't removed, because only Christ can remove it. (15) Yet, even today, when they read the books of Moses, a veil covers their minds. (16) But whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. [Ex. 34:34] (17) This Lord is the Spirit. Wherever the Lord's Spirit is, there is freedom. (18) As all of us reflect the Lord's glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 4:1-6 GW We don't become discouraged, since God has given us this ministry through his mercy. (2) Instead, we have refused to use secret and shameful ways. We don't use tricks, and we don't distort God's word. As God watches, we clearly reveal the truth to everyone. This is our letter of recommendation. (3) So if the Good News that we tell others is covered with a veil, it is hidden from those who are dying. (4) The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. As a result, they don't see the light of the Good News about Christ's glory. It is Christ who is God's image. (5) Our message is not about ourselves. It is about Jesus Christ as the Lord. We are your servants for his sake. (6) We are his servants because the same God who said that light should shine out of darkness has given us light. For that reason we bring to light the knowledge about God's glory which shines from Christ's face. [Isa. 42:6, 7, 16]

(13) We are not like Moses, who had to put a veil over his face so that the people of Israel would not see the brightness fade and disappear. [Ex. 34:35] (14) Their minds, indeed, were closed; and to this very day their minds are covered with the same veil as they read the books of the old covenant. The veil is removed only when a person is joined to Christ. (15) Even today, whenever they read the Law of Moses, the veil still covers their minds. (16) But it can be removed, as the scripture says about Moses: "His veil was removed when he turned to the Lord." [Ex. 34:34] (17) Now, "the Lord" in this passage is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom. (18) All of us, then, reflect the glory of the Lord with uncovered faces; and that same glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit, transforms us into his likeness in an ever greater degree of glory.
2 Corinthians 4:1-6 GNB (1) God in his mercy has given us this work to do, and so we do not become discouraged. (2) We put aside all secret and shameful deeds; we do not act with deceit, nor do we falsify the word of God. In the full light of truth we live in God's sight and try to commend ourselves to everyone's good conscience. (3) For if the gospel we preach is hidden, it is hidden only from those who are being lost. (4) They do not believe, because their minds have been kept in the dark by the evil god of this world. He keeps them from seeing the light shining on them, the light that comes from the Good News about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. (5) For it is not ourselves that we preach; we preach Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) The God who said, "Out of darkness the light shall shine!" is the same God who made his light shine in our hearts, to bring us the knowledge of God's glory shining in the face of Christ. [Isa. 42:6, 7, 16]

(15) But to this day, at the reading of the law of Moses, a veil is over their heart. (16) But when it is turned to the Lord, the veil will be taken away. [Ex. 34:34] (17) Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there the heart is free. (18) But we all, with unveiled face giving back as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord who is the Spirit.

(5) For our preaching is not about ourselves, but about Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants through Jesus. (6) Seeing that it is God who said, Let light be shining out of the dark, who has put in our hearts the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. [Isa. 42:6, 7, 16]
